Interview Tamia Dawn Osburn

Courtney E. Michel
1) Congratulations on your 5th book published by Wings. Have you had any other books published?
Yes, I have one other book that’s out with Whiskey Creek Press, The Sheriff and The Huntress and one other book with Triskelion Publishing, Starfire under the name Tammie Ainsworth, also at Triskelion is another book called Galaxy’s Lovers
2) Do you always write futuristic sci-fi? Or have you written in other genres?
Sorry to say, on Futuristic and Sci-fi. I tried my hand at a contemporary but it didn’t work out.
3) Where do you find your inspiration to create those other worlds and characters?
Not sure, it comes to me to write other worlds and sometimes it’s hard to come up with them.
4) I see your characters reoccur in your books. Do you find it difficult to keep their story going?
I love to keep their story going in other books, this way, one doesn’t have to wonder what happened to them.
5) Is this the conclusion to Dage and Lesley’s story or will there be another book in the series?
This is Dage and Lesley’s story, this one was the hardest to write in the entire series since my main character had lost her baby and I had three miscarriages myself. And it was a difficult time and it’s hard on any woman to loose their baby. But on the good side, there will be Daemon’s story in The Wizard and a surprise.
6) I did read the excerpt for I’ll Be With You, but can you tell me a little more about it?
Dage and Lesley were once lovers when they set out to find Darr on Earth. One day she left Dage and thought to never find him again. When her escape pod landed on a desert planet, Dage was the one who came to her rescue. Dage had spent most of his life searching for his birth parents after being raised in a series of foster homes until the day he was adopted in The Alliance but someone doesn’t want Dage to know the truth about his life.
7) They say a writer comes out through their characters. What traits do you and your characters have in common?
We have nothing in common, my characters are more adventurous and daring then me.
8) I see you write under two different names. Why is that?
I started off writing as Tamia Dawn Osburn, but when I went to another publisher for a book I decided to use my real name there.
9) What is your favorite part of the writing process?
Coming up with the names for my characters and what they look like.
10) What else do you like to do when you aren’t writing?
Being a mother. I do have three wonderful children when they’re being good and letting me write.
11) Do you have any other books that you are working on?
Right now, I just finished a sequel to Starfire and writing a sequel to Galaxy’s Lovers. I really wanted to wait until the end of summer, but this story was begging to be written.
12) What is one thing you would like your readers to know about you that they don’t?
I’m a quiet, private person and I’m an easy listener.
