Interview Erin Moore

1) Do you have the title before you have the story or the other way around?

The title comes to me as I write the book. Something in the book it grabs me and I know that that’s what the title should be. Sometimes I will change the title two or three times before it’s right though.

2) Since this isn’t your first book, I must assume that you have been writing for a while. How many books do you have out and how long have you been at it?

Flame is my third published title. I have six total books completed, all looking for homes right now. I’ve been writing now for about eight or nine years, but the first five was just a hobby.

3) What is your favorite genre to write in?

Definitely romance. It doesn’t matter if it’s contemporary, suspense or mainstream (where I’ve been heading lately) there is always a romance in my books.

4) Where do you do your best work, at the computer or curled up in your favorite easy chair?

Usually I’m curled up in the corner of my couch. I have my own little spot. The ideas seem to flow freely there. The serious work happens at the computer.

5) Is your family supportive of your work?

Absolutely. I have a wonderful family that supports my writing and me.

6) Do you like to write in complete silence or to the beat of your favorite CD?

I can’t write to music, I tend to sing and lose my concentration. I’m one of those people who hears a beat and have to dance. So when I write usually I have a fan going for background music. Even in the winter.

7) Is writing your full time passion or do you, like me, have to work outside of your favorite pastime?

I’m lucky to be able to write full time, my husband supports what I do to the point that he’ll work extra hours and days if needed so I can stay home and write. I’m very fortunate.

8) If you and your hero were stranded on a deserted island, would you have to slap him or seduce him?

I’ve had both kinds of hero’s in my books (a little variety.) But for myself, I’d have to have the one that I’d slap. I need someone that I can butt heads with every once and a while, of course he wouldn’t object to my seducing him either. (What man would?)

9) What would your dream vacation consist of?

A deserted island and my husband for a week.

10) If you could be any heroine in history, who would you be?

This was a difficult question and it made me think. I would love to say that I would want to be Joan of Arc, she stood up for what she believed in and did what was right, but then I look at Cleopatra and say, hmm. Which would I chose? I know, it’s a bit of a stretch. But both were smart and educated. But one was seeing visions and one was queen. Of course Joan won her war and Cleopatra lost hers. So, again it’s a question that I’m still going hmm over…

11) What is your idea of a perfect romantic evening?

Having someone over to watch the kids (or the kids staying over somewhere) so my husband and I can go out to dinner (or stay in) for a few hours by ourselves (or for the night). (I’m a married mom, I’m simple)

12) Just for fun, what is your favorite food?

Chocolate! Anything chocolate.
