Interview Carol McPhee

Sr. Christine Kresho

1. What was your inspiration for Jeweled Seduction?

I really have no idea other than I wanted to base a story in Scotland.

2. Is this your first novel?

This was the eighth one I've written.

3. What genre is Jeweled Seduction?

It's most definitely a romantic suspense.

4. What did you enjoy most about writing Jeweled Seduction?

I enjoyed plotting a complicated story as the characters came to life. To throw unexpected obstacles in front of Calum and Val was the highlight of each day.

5. Do you have a favorite character?

In this story Max, Calum's butler and long-time friend, was my favourite because he was the character with an inside track, yet was bound by family secrets.

6. To whom will this novel appeal the most?

It will appeal to anyone who enjoys discovering secrets and being surprised.

7. Did any of your characters surprise you?

Constantly. That's the joy of writing and giving your characters a free hand.

8. Why does the heirloom offer the son such hope of acceptance by his father?

The father believed in the legend associated with the heirloom that he who possessed it would have good fortune. Calum wanted to bring his father his heart's desire and in so doing see his father look favourably on him one last time.

9. What lesson does the son learn in regard to his relationship with his father?

Great question! Calum learned that although he could make sacrifices in hope to gain his father's love, he could not sacrifice the woman he loved to his father's vengeful nature.

10. What kind of life value or moral conviction will the reader relish or reject in Jeweled Seduction?

That a life of greed is a life spent in misery.

11. What is your biggest hope for the readers of your novel?

I always hope the reader thoroughly enjoys each of my stories and will want to read more of my novels.

12. Is there anything else you want to emphasize?

I would like to emphasize that this is a story full of age old secrets, infidelities, treachery, and deceit, yet rising above is an action-packed romance.
